Janine Heeley
Janine joined the York Trials Unit as a Trial Support Officer in March 2023. After completing her MSc in Applied Health Research at the University of York, Janine dived headfirst into the world of NHS research, where she honed her skills and sparked her fascination for how studies can genuinely improve lives. Her curiosity means she's never afraid to jump in with the questions you're probably thinking, making sure listeners get to the heart of every topic. When she's not helping bring groundbreaking trials to life or interviewing our amazing guests, you'll likely find Janine indulging in one of her other great loves: chocolate!

Lucy Atha
Lucy is a Trial Coordinator who joined the unit in October 2021. Lucy's journey into health research is anything but typical. Before entering the world of clinical trials, she was busy digging things up as an archaeologist in London, uncovering hidden histories. It was this unique blend of science and history that ultimately led her to pursue a career in health science research. Lucy really enjoys breaking down complicated research concepts so they're clear for everyone. Outside of work, Lucy enjoys challenging herself with rock climbing, walking her Golden Retriever, Captain, and, most importantly, enjoying her grandma's legendary roast beef.
